Construction is complete on University of California, Santa Barbara’s Jeff and Judy Henley Hall, which houses the university’s Institute for Energy Efficiency. The project team included general contractor Sundt Construction, Inc. and architect KieranTimberlake. The 49,908-square-foot, three-story facility includes a 128-seat lecture hall, 18 laboratories, 26 offices, conference rooms and group office spaces that accommodate 174 graduate students. Wofford College Environmental Studies Building Earns 3 Green Globes
The Chandler Center for Environmental Studies at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, recently achieved Three Green Globes in the Green Globes Certification program. The project team included construction firm Robins & Morton and architect McMillan Pazdan Smith. Green Globes is a rating assessment and building certification program that helps new construction projects, as well as existing buildings, meet sustainable design and operational goals. Skanska to Expand Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden
Skanska has signed a contract with Locum to rebuild and expand Saint Görans Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 1.3 billion (USD $153 million). The project includes rebuilding the existing hospital buildings and two completely new buildings that will contain facilities for care and treatment, delivery and reception. The preliminary size is about 29,000 square meters (approximately 312,100 square feet) of new construction and about 5,000 square meters (approximately 53,800 square feet) of conversion.
