The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs unveiled its $8.6-million campaign goal for a two-story, 18,000-square-foot facility at the site’s recent ceremonial groundbreaking. The event marked the start of Brasfield & Gorrie’s construction on the Homewood, Alabama facility, which will serve infants and toddlers who are at risk for developmental delay. C.W. Driver Companies celebrated the groundbreaking of the Crown Valley Park Community Building, a 30,000-square-foot, three-story building in Laguna Niguel, California. The $25-million project marks the final phase of a three-tier improvement plan for Crown Valley Community Park, with full completion anticipated for spring 2020. Prefabricated Envelope, Utility Racks Add Speed & Safety to Hospital Project

IMC Construction recently broke ground on a new $100-million hospital in Quakertown, Pennsylvania for St. Luke’s University Health Network. The builder is using a fairly new process on the 131,000-square-foot project that will save time and construction costs. “We are prefabricating the exterior envelope between the patient room headwalls and the exterior brick,” explained Art Brinkworth, P.E., healthcare project director for IMC Construction. “The ceiling utilities will be installed in racks and fabricated in a warehouse offsite while we’re putting the steel, concrete and the roof on. BABSON PARK, Mass. — A groundbreaking celebration took place for the new recreation and athletics center at Babson College in Babson Park, Massachusetts, during homecoming weekend for the school.
