Balfour Beatty has been selected by the University of Reading, England, to deliver its new £33-million Health and Life Sciences building. Balfour Beatty will be responsible for the construction of the 7,500-square-meter state-of-the-art teaching and research facility which, on completion, will form an integral part of the University’s 10-year campus regeneration program. The general contractor has worked in collaboration with the University of Reading through its building framework since July 2015. Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Begins Work on World’s 1st Full-Scale Passenger, Freight System

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has received the first set of tubes designed to move both people and freight to their research and development center in Toulouse, France. With an interior diameter of 4 meters, the system is optimized both for passenger capsules and shipping containers. CPB Contractors Wins $84M Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre

CPB Contractors has been selected by the city of Sydney, Australia to design and construct the Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre, the largest pool complex to be built in the city since the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Construction group BAM has begun work on the second building at Paradise, Birmingham, Two Chamberlain Square in the United Kingdom. The 183,000-square-foot contemporary office building joins One Chamberlain Square in fronting the enhanced new public realm that will complete the first phase of the Paradise development.
