Spark C, the office building located in the Wola district of Warsaw, Poland, and built by Skanska, has just received one of the most demanding certificates – the WELL Core & Shell Certification. After obtaining WELL certification for the commercial interior, granted to the office space on the 5th floor in Spark, the entire core and shell of the building has now been deemed a healthy and comfortable place to work. Balfour Beatty to Deliver Healthcare Facilities in Midlands

Balfour Beatty has been awarded England’s £267-million Midland Metropolitan Hospital contract on behalf of Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. Having been appointed to deliver the early works contract in 2018, Balfour Beatty will now progress with the main construction works to the 80,000-square-meter hospital, including the completion of the external façade and all associated mechanical, electrical and plumbing services, delivered by Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick. The 670-bed Midland Metropolitan Hospital will offer maternity, children’s and inpatient adult facilities to a half million people. Bechtel, Enka Partner to Build ‘5G Motorway’ in Serbia

A joint venture between Bechtel and Enka has won a contract tendered by the government of Serbia for a 112-kilometer motorway. The dual carriageway will link the central Serbian towns of Pojate and Preljina, and will connect to the north-south motorway running between Hungary and North Macedonia. It will also link with trans-European corridors X and XI, which connect Austria with Greece and Italy with Romania. Specialist Hospital Under Construction in Sweden Tracking for Environmental Building, Silver Level

Skanska has signed an agreement with the Region Västra Götaland, Västfastigheter, to build the new Högsbo specialist hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. The contract is worth approximately SEK 1.1 billion, which will be included in Swedish order bookings for the fourth quarter 2019. The project includes a new hospital building and a supply building, totaling about 27,300 square meters, and an associated garage with 175 parking spaces. Woolpert-Black & Veatch JV Selected for $94.5M USACE Europe District Master Planning Contract

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District, has selected the joint venture of Woolpert and Black & Veatch to provide architecture, engineering, master planning and design services under this shared capacity, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. The Woolpert-Black & Veatch JV was one of nine awardees selected for this contract.
