USGBC Launches New, More Comprehensive LEED Rating System

The U.S. Green Building Council launched LEED v5, the latest version of its flagship Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design green building program. LEED v5 registration is available for new construction, interior and existing commercial building projects. Highlights include: Decarbonization accounts for half of all points for LEED v5 certification to confront current climate needs. The U.S. Green Building Council has released its annual list of the Top 10 States for LEED. Massachusetts ranked first in 2024 based on LEED-certified gross square footage per capita over the past year, improving their showing from 2023. The full Top 10 States for LEED are: In 2024, the top 10 states certified 1,437 LEED projects equaling over 414 million gross square feet.
