Arlington, Virginia’s new transit operation and maintenance facility recently opened its doors to employees and a more sustainable transit future. Designed by Stantec and built by Turner Construction Company, the facility provides ART with a centralized, modern headquarters that supports its growing operations and transition to a battery electric bus fleet. The $96.6-million project adapted three parcels of land into two new modern structures — a three-story, 49,500-square-foot operations and maintenance facility and a four-story, 65,000-square-foot parking structure. Joint Venture Celebrates Grand Opening of $2B Intuit Dome

Turner Construction Company, joint-venture partner AECOM Hunt and the Los Angeles Clippers, celebrated the grand opening of the $2-billion Intuit Dome located in Los Angeles, California. The first event in the arena was a sold-out Bruno Mars concert. The 17,700-seat venue holds five basketball courts including the homecourt of the NBA’s Clippers, a practice facility and has an outdoor plaza for gathering. An important construction milestone was achieved as the final steel beam was installed in the roof of the Intuit Dome – the future home of the Los Angeles Clippers. Approximately 10,500 tons of structural steel in the bowl was erected in eight months. This includes seven roof trusses that each weigh 200 tons. The groundbreaking of Northern Bus Garage Reconstruction project, located in Washington, D.C., was recently celebrated by representatives from Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Federal Transit Administration, the District of Columbia and Clark Construction Group. Clark is serving as Design-Builder. Located on 14th Street Northwest, the new garage will house up to 150 zero-emission buses, aligning with Metro’s goal to transition to a zero-emission bus fleet.
