Gilbane, University of New Hampshire Host Beam-Signing Ceremony for Ocean Mapping Research Center

Gilbane Building joined the University of New Hampshire for a beam-signing ceremony for the new Center of Excellence for Operational Ocean and Great Lakes Mapping, a milestone in the construction of the 70,500-square-foot research facility in Durham, New Hampshire. The building will house the Center of Excellence, alongside the John Olson Advanced Manufacturing Center, supporting applied research, training and technical assistance in ocean mapping. It will also include 35,000 square feet of high-bay space for industry partners collaborating with UNH. Gilbane Building is serving as design-builder in partnership with Stantec. The project is scheduled to open in fall 2027.

Project Team Tapped for Cottonwoods Long-Term Care Facility in British Columbia

The project team has been selected for Cottonwoods Long-Term Care Facility in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, and includes Stantec and Bird Construction Group, led by Interior Health in partnership with the Central Okanagan Regional Hospital District and the syilx Okanagan Nation. The four-story facility will provide residents living in Kelowna and Central Okanagan access to improved care in a homelike environment. The project reimagines three core elements of traditional long-term care: the physical environment, philosophy of care and a workforce model. Plans for New €3.2B Semiconductor Assembly, Test Facility Underway in Italy

Silicon Box has selected Stantec and its partner, Drees & Sommer, for the new €3.2-billion semiconductor assembly and test facility in northern Italy. Stantec will provide architecture for the administration areas and infrastructure design including overall permitting services, while Drees & Sommer is contributing industrial engineering, architecture, structural engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering and clean room/dry room design for the production and utility buildings. A general contractor has not yet been selected for the project. Designed by Stantec and built by Turner Construction Company, the facility provides ART with a centralized, modern headquarters that supports its growing operations and transition to a battery electric bus fleet.
