The design and construction of a new school at Sluseholmen has been awarded to BAM Denmark, together with JJW Architects, consulting engineers AB Clausen and JL Engineering, Thing Brandt Landscape and Keingart, for the city of Copenhagen, Denmark. The new three-track school will be built at Sluseholmen between Sjællandsbroen and by Stigbordene, and will accommodate approximately 840 students. JE Dunn Construction recently celebrated the placement of the final steel beam in the framing of a new Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy elementary school for Atlanta Public Schools, located in Georgia. At a midday topping out ceremony, workers, vendors, suppliers and APS representatives scrawled their signatures on the eight-foot symbolic beam, and JE Dunn thanked all for progress to date on the $27.6-million project. Ground Broken on Largest Construction Project in Chaffee County, Colorado

Haselden Construction recently broke ground on construction of Buena Vista High School and McGinnis Middle School in Buena Vista, Colorado. The schools, located on a shared campus, are part of a two-phase project that will include construction of a new academic wing, renovation of the high school gymnasium and demolition and new construction of the remaining existing facilities. Lemonwood Elementary School Phase One Opens

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Phase one of the redesigned Lemonwood Elementary in Oxnard School District (California) is now open. SVA Architects was the architect on the project, with Swinerton Builders serving as general contractor and Caldwell Flores Winters, Inc. as program manager.
