Salaries Remain High in Construction Industry

ALACHUA, Fla. – Skilled craft professionals continue to earn top dollar, according to NCCER’s 2015 Construction Craft Salary Survey. Each year, NCCER surveys companies and organizations from the industrial and commercial construction industries across the U.S about the salaries of their craft professionals. The Construction Craft Salary Survey represents average annual salaries for individual craft areas, not including overtime, per diem, bonuses or other incentives. Of the nearly 90 construction groups surveyed, average annual salaries for craft professions ranged from just over $47,000 to almost $89,000. Revised Scaffolding Assessment Now Available

NCCER recently revised its Scaffolding written assessment and Performance Verification. Journey-level scaffold builders who successfully complete both the written assessment and Performance Verification can become Certified Plus, NCCER’s highest credential. Training prescriptions are provided to all individuals who take the written assessment. These prescriptions allow for upgrade training and provide scaffold builders the opportunity to acquire valuable skills while earning credentials for their training completions.

Revised Training, Assessment Products Now Available for Construction Industry

ALACHUA, Fla. — NCCER recently revised its Construction Craft Laborer Level 1 and Level 2 curricula as well as its Hydroblasting Technician assessment and Performance Verification. Construction craft laborers perform a variety of crafts and operate many types of tools, instruments and equipment as they travel to different jobsites. The Construction Craft Laborer curriculum introduces trainees to a variety of trades, including carpentry, masonry, ironworking, electrical, welding, heavy equipment and cranes. Upon completion of this two-level course, trainees will have the basic knowledge needed on any jobsite.
