TEMPE, Ariz. – Hunt-Sundt, a joint venture of Hunt Construction Group and Sundt Construction, Inc., has completed the 490,000-square-foot Phase II renovation of Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. The $162-million contract included the complete reconstruction of the lower stadium bowl, new stadium seating with chair backs and cup holders, new concessions, upgraded restrooms and amenities, along with new luxury suites on the east and west sides of the stadium. ST. LOUIS, Mo. – When the main cell house building at the historic Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary in San Francisco, California, was constructed in 1910-1912, prison workers mixed salt water from the surrounding San Francisco Bay and brick rubble in the concrete support beams. Coupled with the island’s extreme weather conditions, the large, cast-in-place concrete support beams in the original citadel and basement shower room areas that support the main cellblock structures began to deteriorate and fail, posing major structural damage to the historic building.
