Joint Venture Tapped for New Adult Corrections Facility Replacement Project in Canada

The negotiations between the government of Newfoundland and Labrador and New Avalon Corrections Partners have culminated in a final project agreement, which includes financial close on the Adult Corrections Facility Replacement Project in Canada. In June, ground was broken on the site as the result of an Early Works Agreement valued at approximately $1.5 million, that allowed NACP to begin site preparation while the comprehensive project agreement was being finalized. New Blackwater Community School Continues to Serve as Hub for Education, Culture for Future Generations

Construction on the new Blackwater Community School, which replaces the facility originally built in 1939, is complete. The two-story structure is located Southeast of Phoenix, Arizona on a 7.43-acre campus on the Gila River Indian Community. The project team included engineer Rosendin, general contractor Gilbane Building Company and design partner Breckenridge Group. The $25-million replacement campus incorporates culturally significant artwork throughout the classroom building, media center, multi-purpose building and cafeteria. California State Polytechnic University Phase 1 Replacement Project Complete

Phase 1 of the first-year student housing replacement project at California State Polytechnic University, located in Pomona, has recently been completed. The project consists of two eight-story towers that house 980 students and includes a 35,000-square-foot dining facility. Both towers are structural concrete constructed by the contractor’s own concrete crews. The project included the relocation of approximately 2,600 linear feet of along one drive, and the addition of 400 parking spaces around the area.
