$150M Vertical Expansion Project Begins at Huntsville Hospital Madison Street Tower

Robins & Morton has begun work on the $150 million vertical expansion at Huntsville Hospital Madison Street Tower in Huntsville, Alabama. The five-story, 154,000-square-foot project will add 120 beds, as well as a cardiothoracic intensive care unit, a neuro intensive care unit for neurosurgical and stroke patients, three floors of new acute medical space, and a new and improved emergency department vehicle entrance. Additionally, 70 existing patient rooms will be converted from double occupancy to single occupancy. The $72-million, 51,500-square-foot facility features an urgent care, primary care, comprehensive cancer center and a pharmacy. The centerpiece is a $4-million linear accelerator. The device provides radiation treatments with submillimeter accuracy. Construction firm Robins & Morton completed a new $120 million, 131,000-square-foot long-term care facility for the Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority in Cherokee, North Carolina. The facility — called the Tsali Care Center — stands two stories and contains 120 private resident rooms. It is devoted to the care of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and will feature skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care services, in addition to a dialysis center.
