Construction firm Robins & Morton joined the Texas Health and Human Services Commission on Aug. 28 for the official groundbreaking of Terrell State Hospital’s replacement facility. The 415,500-square-foot, 250-bed project will replace a 139-year-old psychiatric hospital. For nearly 140 years, Terrell State Hospital has played a crucial role in providing services to Texans in need. The hospital first opened in July 1885 after the 18th Texas Legislature passed a bill calling for the establishment of a psychiatric hospital in North Texas. Today, the hospital serves 31 counties. HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital, located in Port Charlotte, Florida, has completed phase one of its $60 million expansion and renovation project that increases the hospital’s capacity and broadens its offerings. Opened to the public on May 13, the project included expanding critical care units by 12 rooms, increasing the number of pre-operative treatment areas to 43 bays, renovation of the main lobby, waiting rooms and registration areas and the addition of a chapel and coffee shop. A topping out celebration was held for UHealth at SoLé Mia. The seven-story, 363,000-square-foot medical center is being built on 10 acres in North Miami, Florida’s master-planned community of SoLé Mia, a 184-acre mixed-use project. Robins & Morton Breaks Ground on Okaloosa Gas District Headquarters
Ground was recently broken on the headquarters for Okaloosa Gas District, located in Valparaiso, Florida. The project includes a four-story, 152,000-square-foot office building, an 18,400-square-foot operations center a 7,200-square-foot vehicle maintenance building and a 23,540-square-foot warehouse. The space will allow Okaloosa Gas District to consolidate its team members into one location.
