Skanska has reached a major milestone with the topping out of the Paul and Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. The milestone represents the installation of 3,739 tons of structural steel and over 160,000 worker hours dedicated to the project to date. Skanska Breaks Ground on Novo Nordisk Life Sciences Center in North Carolina
Skanska has been selected by Durham Tech Community College to build the Novo Nordisk Life Sciences Center at the college, located in North Carolina. The firm recently broke ground on the project which includes the demolition of the existing building. Construction is expected to be complete in March 2027. The new single-story 30,700-square-foot center will house 12 flexible, ballroom-style open lab modules, additional classroom space and various break rooms. Renovations of an 11,000-square-foot space have been completed to serve as a new care center in Livermore, California. The project team included general contractor Skanska and architect HED. Located on Southfront Road, the new Sutter Health care center will provide internal medicine, family medicine and pediatrics, as well as lab and imaging services, to expand access to high-quality outpatient care in the region.
