The new Noorda Engineering, Applied Science & Technology building at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, recently topped out. The project team includes general contractor Big-D Construction and architect VCBO Architecture. Painted purple and signed by several involved in the project, onlookers watched as the final beam was hoisted into place. Topping out ceremonies were recently celebrated for two projects at the University of Georgia – The Interdisciplinary Science Technology Engineering and Math Research Laboratory, which is a 100,000-square-foot interdisciplinary graduate research facility, and a 120,000-square-foot student residence hall. Turner Construction Company served as general contractor on the project. The i-STEM Research Building will include laboratories, support spaces, offices and study areas. The residence hall will provide housing for 525 people. Both projects are scheduled to be complete in the fall of 2022.
