University of Georgia Celebrates Topping Out Ceremonies

Topping out ceremonies were recently celebrated for two projects at the University of Georgia – The Interdisciplinary Science Technology Engineering and Math Research Laboratory, which is a 100,000-square-foot interdisciplinary graduate research facility, and a 120,000-square-foot student residence hall. Turner Construction Company served as general contractor on the project. The i-STEM Research Building will include laboratories, support spaces, offices and study areas. The residence hall will provide housing for 525 people. Both projects are scheduled to be complete in the fall of 2022.

Topping Out Ceremony Marks Construction Milestone for 92,500-SF MGM Music Hall at Fenway

A recent topping out ceremony marks a major construction milestone for the new 91,500-square-foot MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, Massachusetts. The performing arts center is being constructed in the triangular lot on the corner of Lansdowne and Ipswich Streets. Once complete, the four-story venue will accommodate 5,000 patrons and play host to musical acts from around the globe. 47-Story Office Tower Tops Out in Houston

The 47-floor Texas Tower, located in Houston, recently topped out. The project team includes Gilbane Building Company with team members from Hines Limited Partnership and Ivanhoé Cambridge and architect Pelli Clarke. The new tower will be an impressive addition to the Houston skyline and will total more than 1 million square feet. The final beam was raised more than 1,000 feet to celebrate the official topping out of The Spiral at 66 Hudson Boulevard, a commercial skyscraper in Hudson Yards that will represent the future of connected workspace for industry leaders in New York City. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Vertical Expansion Tops Out

Memorial Healthcare System’s Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital’s vertical expansion, located in Hollywood, Florida, recently topped out. Robins & Morton is serving as the general contractor and the architect is HKS, Inc. Once all work is complete in the fall of 2022, the four-floor, 164,038-square-foot expansion will include 72 new patient rooms, two cardiac hybrid operating rooms, two surgical suites and an intraoperative MRI.
