Joint-venture partners Sundt Construction, Inc. and Kiewit continue to earn awards for their work on the Ina Road Traffic Interchange. The two-and-a-half-year project was recently awarded the 2020 “Public Works Projects of the Year” by the Arizona Chapter of the American Public Works Association in the category of Transportation: over $75 million and the 2019 Arizona Department of Transportation Partnering Award. The construction manager at-risk project involved reconstruction of the interchange at Ina Road as a precast concrete bridge overpass to I-10. Highway Construction Project Kicks Off Next Month

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Sundt Construction has been awarded a $25-million contract by the Utah Department of Transportation to complete a highway reconstruction project. The project includes construction of a new bridge over I-215 to create an interchange at Redwood Road and approximately two miles of new concrete pavement on I-215. In addition to the interchange, Sundt will reconstruct one mile of Redwood Road to Center Street and an additional five miles of Redwood will be rehabilitated with new asphalt pavement. MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Modjeski and Masters has been selected as a sub-consultant to Collins Engineers, Inc. for the Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract from the Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division of the Federal Highway Administration. As a sub-consultant on this contract, Modjeski and Masters will perform bridge and tunnel inspections, load ratings and non-destructive testing. Balfour Beatty’s M3 project in Surrey and Hampshire has become the latest road in the UK to be upgraded to a smart motorway. The contract with Highways England is set to improve journey times for 130,000 drivers who use the road each day by converting the hard shoulder into a fourth lane and the introduction of cutting-edge technology. Bechtel Selected to Build First Expressway in Kenya

Bechtel has been selected by the Kenyan National Highways Authority to build the first high-speed expressway in the country. The new 294-mile (473-kilometer) route will vastly improve the connectivity, efficiency and safety of road transport between Nairobi and the country’s main seaport, Mombasa, and will reduce the journey time from over 10 hours to less than four hours.
