Dubai ‘Office of the Future’ Sets Guinness World Record

Recently, the 3D-printed Dubai landmark, Office of the Future, set a Guinness World Record as the first 3D-printed commercial building in the world. China State Construction Engineering Cooperation Middle East, general contractor on the project, has served throughout the process from design to construction.

Adjacent to the Dubai World Trade Center, the Office of the Future is a 250-square-meter building that has built-in activity centers, offices and lounges. The project showcases the design concepts of simplicity and modernity, a futuristic appearance and a spread-out layout.

The building components were 3D printed in China, transported to Dubai and then assembled onsite. Overall, it took 17 days to print and only two days to install.

The Office of the Future was inaugurated in May 2016 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.
