A £67-million contract has been awarded to Balfour Beatty by the City of Edinburgh Council to deliver a replacement campus at Liberton High School in Edinburgh, Scotland. The general contractor will be responsible for the design and construction of the new 13,470-square-meter campus alongside facilities for the local community including a state-of-the-art synthetic sports pitch, library and café. As the first Ismaili Center in the United States, it joins six other centers in Dubai, UAE; Dushanbe, Tajikistan; Lisbon, Portugal); London, England; Toronto, Canada and Vancouver, Washington. Contractor Selected to Build Ultra-Fast Charging Stations across Germany

French construction firm Vinci recently won a deal to acquire land and then build and operate 106 charging stations for electric vehicles across Germany. The Germany Ministry for Digital and Transport has awarded Vinci Concessions three contracts to develop the ultra-fast (400kW power rating) charging stations. The development represents a total investment in excess of €200 million. In total, it will see the installation of 828 individual charging points. A pathology laboratory designed to serve patients across West Yorkshire (England) has recently opened. Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust’s Centre for Laboratory Medicine marks a significant milestone in regional healthcare as it is set to house pathology services from Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust and Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
