Balfour Beatty to Deliver Healthcare Facilities in Midlands

Balfour Beatty has been awarded England’s £267-million Midland Metropolitan Hospital contract on behalf of Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. Having been appointed to deliver the early works contract in 2018, Balfour Beatty will now progress with the main construction works to the 80,000-square-meter hospital, including the completion of the external façade and all associated mechanical, electrical and plumbing services, delivered by Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick. The 670-bed Midland Metropolitan Hospital will offer maternity, children’s and inpatient adult facilities to a half million people. Bechtel, Enka Partner to Build ‘5G Motorway’ in Serbia

A joint venture between Bechtel and Enka has won a contract tendered by the government of Serbia for a 112-kilometer motorway. The dual carriageway will link the central Serbian towns of Pojate and Preljina, and will connect to the north-south motorway running between Hungary and North Macedonia. It will also link with trans-European corridors X and XI, which connect Austria with Greece and Italy with Romania. BAM Denmark to Build New School in Sluseholmen

The design and construction of a new school at Sluseholmen has been awarded to BAM Denmark, together with JJW Architects, consulting engineers AB Clausen and JL Engineering, Thing Brandt Landscape and Keingart, for the city of Copenhagen, Denmark. The new three-track school will be built at Sluseholmen between Sjællandsbroen and by Stigbordene, and will accommodate approximately 840 students. China State Construction to Manage Hong Kong Palace Museum Project

Recently, China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (a subsidiary of China State Construction), won the bid for the Hong Kong Palace Museum Project. The project is located at the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong. It is the first pavilion established by the Palace Museum with the name “Forbidden City” outside of Mainland China.
