The topping out of the Women’s Sports Program Expansion project at Clemson University in South Carolina was recently celebrated. The project expansion has reached its full height for new and upgraded facilities that will serve lacrosse, gymnastics and rowing teams. Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor on the project. Clemson’s Women’s Sports Program Expansion is the largest recent expansion of women’s sports in the nation. ABC Reports Construction Job Openings Decreased by 5,000 in June
The construction industry had 374,000 job openings on the last day of June, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors’ analysis of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey. JOLTS defines a job opening as any unfilled position for which an employer is actively recruiting. UC San Diego Medical Center, Hillcrest Outpatient Pavilion Tops Out
The new outpatient pavilion at UC San Diego Medical Center, Hillcrest (California) has topped out. Part of the first phase of the UC San Diego Long Range Development Plan, the six-story, 250,000-square-foot facility will house key clinical programs, addressing the region’s growing demand for specialized diagnostic, treatment and surgical services, notably in cancer care. The project is anticipated to be complete in 2025. Lehigh University Awards $70M Contract to Redevelop Historic Clayton University Center in Pennsylvania
Lehigh University has awarded construction and development firm Skanska a $70-million contract to redevelop its historic Clayton University Center located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The 24-month project will encompass both the renovation and preservation of the existing Clayton University Center, while maintaining the historic nuances of the building. Key project elements include the delivery of utility upgrades, inclusive of new electrical service, mechanical systems and equipment, as well as the installation of a full fire protection system.
