Patients are now being cared for in the new Waipapa building at the Christchurch Hospital, located in New Zealand. The Waipapa building, formerly known as the Acute Services Building, is the largest hospital project ever delivered in New Zealand and has been constructed to stringent seismic requirements. CPB Contractors delivered the new facility for New Zealand’s Ministry of Health. One of Largest UK Retaining Structures Installed on Sunderland Strategic Transport Corridor

Esh Construction, Aarsleff Ground Engineering and Sunderland City Council have worked in collaboration to deliver four significant retaining structures in a geotechnical engineering feat on Phase 3 of the Sunderland Strategic Transport Corridor, located in England. In just over 12 months, a soil nail wall formed at a 70 degree angle up to 12 meters high and 250 meters in length, a large kingpost retaining wall 250 meters in length, 85 meters of contiguous bored pile reinforced concrete retaining wall, and a 65-meter reinforced concrete L-shaped wall supported on continuous flight auger-piled foundations, have been installed. Dodge Momentum Index Ends 2020 on High Note

The Dodge Momentum Index jumped 9.2% in December to 134.6 (2000=100) from the revised November reading of 123.3. The momentum index, issued by Dodge Data & Analytics, is a monthly measure of the first (or initial) report for nonresidential building projects in planning, which have been shown to lead construction spending for nonresidential buildings by a full year. The commercial component of the momentum index rose 14.0%, while the institutional component rose by 0.3%. 11-Story Hotel Tower at Wild Horse Pass Tops Off

The new 11-story hotel tower at Gila River Hotels & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass, located in Chandler, Arizona, recently topped off. Sundt Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for the project. The new guest tower is a piece of the property’s $143-million expansion and renovation, and will connect to its existing hotel, doubling guestroom capacity. It includes 205 guestrooms, for a total of 447 guestrooms on the property.
