The construction industry had 217,000 job openings on the last day of December 2024, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors’ analysis of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey. JOLTS defines a job opening as any unfilled position for which an employer is actively recruiting. The Slag Cement Association recently announced the winners of its 2024 Slag Cement in Sustainable Concrete Awards. The winning projects were unveiled and celebrated during the spring ACI Concrete Convention in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Fourteen construction projects from across the United States and Canada were chosen to showcase the broad applications of slag cement and its impact on creating more durable and resilient concrete.
