Work has begun on a $2-billion project to expand Vantage Data Centers’ campus in New Albany, Ohio. Turner Construction Company is serving as the general contractor on the project. The start of construction was celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by representatives from Vantage, Turner and leaders from local organizations. The campus is Vantage’s first project in the Midwest and will provide secure and reliable infrastructure for cloud technologies and artificial intelligence. NCCER, Build Your Future Celebrate 2024 Careers in Construction Month Results

The National Center for Construction Education and Research and its Build Your Future initiative recently celebrated the 12th annual Careers in Construction Month. The campaign aimed to increase public awareness of construction careers and inspire the next generation of craft professionals. Requests to state governments to proclaim October as CICM were filed by residents in 26 states and U.S. territories, with 16 states issuing an official proclamation. Between 2021 and 2022, almost 450 construction workers suffered a fatal head injury, and another 11,600 had injuries severe enough to force them to miss work.
