New MOB in New York to Deliver 400,000-SF Class A Office Space

A 30-story medical office building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side recently topped out. Developed by Extell Development Company, the 400,000-square-foot facility, slated for completion in 2025, will house doctors’ offices, medical treatment centers and retail space on the ground floor. Lendlease provided pre-construction services ahead of the tower’s groundbreaking and is serving as construction manager for the development, which is being built on a full-block site located on the east side of First Avenue, between East 79th and East 80th streets. OSHA Photo Contest Returns to Promote Awareness of Heat Dangers

Soaring temperatures are already causing concerns at workplaces — outdoors and indoors — throughout the nation. To allow employers, workers and other stakeholders to help one another understand and address the dangers of heat hazards, the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is again sponsoring the agency’s “Beat the Heat” photo contest. Modernization of Historic Carnegie-Era Libraries Underway

Two Carnegie public library branches in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania will undergo extensive modernization, while also retaining the historic character of each. Working in conjunction with Rebuild Philadelphia and DIGroup Architecture, general contractors Pride Enterprises and TN Ward Company, respectively, recently broke ground for the reconstruction of these early 20th century-era buildings: the $13.2-million Carnegie-funded Paschalville (circa 1915) and the $8.5-million Blanche A.
