OSHA, International Safety Equipment Association Form Alliance to Protect Workers’ Safety & Health

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the International Safety Equipment Association signed an alliance to provide members, employers and employees with information on how to properly select, use, maintain and store personal protective and safety equipment. During the two-year agreement, participants will also share information on developments in national consensus standards for personal protective and safety equipment. Modjeski and Masters Wins Prize Bridge Award from National Steel Bridge Alliance

Modjeski and Masters was recently selected for a 2018 Prize Bridge Award, Reconstructed Category, from the National Steel Bridge Alliance. The firm was recognized for its Robert F. Kennedy Bridge Manhattan Approach Ramps Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Project (RK-23) in New York City. Winners Announced for Steel Erectors Association of America Annual Competition

An independent panel of judges on behalf of the Steel Erectors Association of America selected three steel construction projects for the association’s annual Projects of the Year. Teams from Gardner-Watson Decking (Class I for erection contracts up to $500,000), Buckner Companies (Class III above $1 million to $2.5 million) and J.P. Cullen & Sons (Class IV over $2.5 million) were honored at SEAA’s 2018 Annual Convention, held in April. Note: No awards were granted in the Class II category ($500,000 to $1 million) for 2017. Brasfield & Gorrie Selected to Build Newest Addition to Toringdon Development

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Trinity Capital Advisors will begin construction of Toringdon 7 this month, the seventh and final office building in South Charlotte, North Carolina’s Toringdon Office Park. The eight-story, 198,195-square-foot building’s shell construction is scheduled for completion by summer 2019. Toringdon 7 features nearly column-free floorplans, floor-to-ceiling windows and a four-per-thousand parking ratio, along with unmatched visibility from I-485 and Community House Road. The general contractor is working on several projects in the area for Trinity Capital Advisors, including 2200 Perimeter Park, Perimeter Five, Perimeter Six and Syneos Health Headquarters.

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Hispanic American Construction Industry Association has named Mortenson as its General Contractor of the Year.
