Poettker Construction broke ground on buildings 4 and 7 for the Gateway 85 development initiative in Gastonia, North Carolina. NorthPoint Development selected the company as the general contractor for Phase II of the project, which includes the construction of two distribution center and warehouse buildings totaling over 945,000 square feet. Phase II of the campus includes Building 4, a 241,114-square-foot single rear load warehouse, and Building 7, a 705,234-square-foot cross dock warehouse. Stevens Construction Begins Renovation at Somerset at the Plantation

Stevens Construction started an interior renovation and outdoor amenities improvement to the amenity center at Somerset at the Plantation in Fort Myers, Florida. The company is providing a 12,650-square-foot interior renovation of the community amenity center, which will include a fitness facility, meeting rooms, bathrooms, offices, outdoor bar and event room. Additionally, the company is building four new pickleball courts, two new bocce ball courts, shade canopies and expanding the spa and renovating the sauna. Topping-Out Reached for Radford University’s Artis Center for Adaptive Innovation and Creativity Project

Skanska has topped out on Radford University’s new Artis Center for Adaptive Innovation and Creativity on July 22. Located in Radford, Virginia, the 178,000-square-foot building will replace the existing space for the College of Visual and Performing Arts and create interdisciplinary student spaces. CAIC represents the largest capital construction project in the history of Radford University in terms of total project funding and square footage. Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for New North Ogden Public Safety Building

Big-D Construction and partners including the city of North Ogden broke ground on a public safety building in Utah. The project, awarded to Big-D Construction and JRCA Architects in 2021, is a $12.4-million design-build project. At 25,000 square feet, the facility is a single-story building and will be home to the North Ogden Justice Court, police department, code enforcement, animal control and a new holding facility. Estimated completion on the building is slated for August 2023.

McCarthy Finishes Construction on Advanced Technology and Applied Sciences Building   

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. completed construction for the Advanced Technology and Applied Sciences building at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California. This effectively finishes the original scope of the three-year project set out by the college. The new facility, which opened June 2022, was completed in partnership with national architecture and design firm HED and is a 52,913-square-foot LEED Gold-Equivalent multidisciplinary space.   The main layout of the building connects directly to the campus pedestrian network.
