Mortenson has completed the enclosure of the major new addition to Halas Hall, putting it on track to complete the expansion and renovation of the home of the Chicago Bears National League Football team before the start of next year’s football season. The modernization, including the 162,500-square-foot addition that more than doubles the size of the Bears’ headquarters, located in Lake Forest, Illinois, will deliver an expansive, state-of-the-art training center for players, coaches and the entire football operation. Moose International Lodgic Everyday Community Project Celebrates Grand Opening

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Gilbane Building Company and Moose International recently celebrated the grand opening of the nation’s first Lodgic Everyday Community project in Champaign, Illinois. Gilbane provided preconstruction and construction management services for the Lodgic Everyday Community project, which consisted of tenant redevelopment of approximately 28,000 square feet  of interior space. The project included a new restaurant with outdoor seating, coffee café, retail, co-work office space for lease, childcare, outdoor play area and fitness center. It is one of the organization’s most significant expansion ventures since the turn of the 20th century.

Grand Opening Celebrated at Lovington Wellness Center

Robins & Morton, Nor-Lea Hospital District and the Lovington, New Mexico community celebrated the grand opening of the Nor-Lea Hospital District’s Lovington Wellness Center last month. The long-anticipated 40,000-square-foot project brings a new fitness and wellness space to the area. It features a competition pool, therapy pool, full-size basketball court, walking track, climbing wall, free weights, exercise machines and group fitness classes. Child care space was also included in the scope and is now a service offered to the all the members of the new center.

Ground Broken for New Marriott-Branded Hotel

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Design & Build/HBD Construction, Inc. team has been selected to build one of the first new hotels in downtown St. Louis, Missouri in years – Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new hotel was held last month. Equis Hotels is the developer on the $20-million hotel and parking garage project, with Chiodini Architects of St. Louis providing its design and Peak Construction Group serving as the construction manager. Brasfield & Gorrie Relocates Atlanta-Area Office

ATLANTA, Ga. – Brasfield & Gorrie opens its relocated Cobb County office in the area around SunTrust Park and The Battery Atlanta in Georgia. The move from the company’s previous Kennesaw location to a completely renovated 113,000-square-foot office building increases the company’s space by about 43,000 square feet and will allow the general contractor to continue to expand in a growing, conveniently located neighborhood. Brasfield & Gorrie’s new office repurposes an existing pair of connected three-story buildings.
