Gilbane/LiRo Joint Venture to Serve as Construction Managers for SUNY New School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences

ALBANY, N.Y. — State University of New York and the State University Construction Fund have selected Gilbane Building Company, in a joint venture with The LiRo Group, to provide construction management services for the New School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences project at the University at Buffalo. Designed by HOK, the $375-million medical school is designed to connect approximately 2,000 students, faculty, biomedical researchers and clinicians with classrooms, bedside patient care and lab environments. Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, Minnesota Vikings Announce Stadium Construction Manager

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and the Minnesota Vikings announced Mortenson Construction has been chosen as the construction manager that will build a new multipurpose stadium. The announcement was made at a special meeting of the authority. Kraus-Anderson Selected to Build Biological Station in Itasca State Park

BEMIDJI, Minn. — The University of Minnesota has selected Kraus-Anderson as construction manager for the new 11,800-square-foot Campus Center at the Itasca Biological Station and Laboratories in Itasca State Park. Construction is expected to begin in April 2013, with completion in December 2013. The project will replace three, 60-year old obsolete buildings with one facility providing year-round classrooms and technology-enabled laboratories. The new facility will accommodate a 20-percent increase in capacity at peak season and address a growing demand for year-round use.
