The Clemson University Alumni & Visitors Center located in Clemson, South Carolina has reached its full height, marking a major construction milestone. During a recent topping out ceremony, the university and Brasfield & Gorrie, the project’s construction manager, celebrated the craft workers building the facility. Work Begins on $225M Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center
Work has begun on the new Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center in Midland, Texas. The 200-bed, $225-million facility, which will be built on a 54-acre site, will offer short- and long-term treatment for psychiatric patients of all ages. It will include a crisis stabilization unit, an outpatient center, state-of-the-art amenities and a community education center. Ground Broken on $131M Project at University of Texas at San Antonio
Groundbreaking was celebrated at the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Careers building, also known as San Pedro II. Turner Construction Company is the general contractor on the project. The seven-story, 180,000-square-foot facility located in San Antonio’s Tech District is designed by Overland | Gensler. San Pedro II will serve as a collaborative space for programs in business, computer engineering, hardware/software development and sciences. Sundt Selected to Build Dominion Energy Darbytown Storage Pilot Project
Sundt Construction’s Industrial Group was selected by Dominion Energy as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the Darbytown Storage Pilot project where Dominion Energy will be evaluating two different non-lithium battery storage technologies. The project will be at the existing Darbytown Power Station located in Richmond, Virginia. The project will have a total power output of approximately 9 megawatts. Joint Ventured Tapped for $1.2B Austin Convention Center Redevelopment Project
A joint-venture team of Turner Construction Company and JE Dunn Construction was awarded a contract to lead a $1.2-billion redevelopment and expansion of the Austin Convention Center in Texas. The project will involve demolishing and rebuilding the convention center over four years. The expansion and redevelopment will nearly double the amount of rentable space allowing the convention center to remain competitive in the marketplace. The redevelopment will also deliver a community-friendly event space that will transform the southeast quadrant of downtown and provide connectivity between downtown and East Austin. Construction will be complete in 2028.
