Construction is complete on Phase I of Fenton, a 945,000-square-foot mixed-use development in Cary, North Carolina. Hoar Construction joined the project as the general contractor in the winter of 2020, handling preconstruction and construction services on behalf of owner Hines. Fenton is Cary’s first vertically integrated mixed-use community and one of the largest retail-focused projects in the United States in recent years. The final steel beam for Muckleshoot Casino’s resort tower was hoisted into place on Friday, Aug. 26, in Auburn, Washington. The 1,000-pound, 25-foot-long beam, adorned with the signatures of Muckleshoot Indian Tribal members, as well as the men and women who built the 18-story structure, glided into place accompanied with a splash of fireworks. Skanska has topped out at the Douglas MacArthur Elementary School in Alexandria, Virginia. Representatives from Skanska, Alexandria City Public Schools and Skanska’s construction partners commemorated the event July 27. When complete, the 150,000-square-foot school will accommodate spaces for classrooms, art and music rooms and physical education. Outside the walls of the school, the site will be home to new turf fields, pedestrian safe drop-off zones and driveways, basketball courts and playground areas.
