McDonald’s Flagship-Disney Aims for Net-Zero Status

The McDonald’s Flagship-Disney, located in Orlando, Florida, recently completed construction, and aims to become the first net-zero restaurant in the quick-service industry. Under a shed clad in solar panels, the 8,024-square-foot restaurant, built by Southland Construction and designed by Ross Barney Architects, was envisioned and developed in response to the Florida climate. Energy consumption is reduced by optimizing building and kitchen systems. 11-Story Hotel Tower at Wild Horse Pass Tops Off

The new 11-story hotel tower at Gila River Hotels & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass, located in Chandler, Arizona, recently topped off. Sundt Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for the project. The new guest tower is a piece of the property’s $143-million expansion and renovation, and will connect to its existing hotel, doubling guestroom capacity. Purdue University Breaks Ground on New Home of Bands & Orchestras at Hagle Hall

Marc and Sharon Hagle recently joined officials of Purdue University, located in West Lafayette, Indiana, for the groundbreaking ceremony of Marc and Sharon Hagle Hall, the new home of Purdue Bands & Orchestras. Approved by the Purdue Board of Trustees in December 2019, the $20-million, 37,500-square-foot, four-story facility will be built along Third Street’s Student Success Corridor, which connects student residential areas with the campus’ academic center.
