In a significant step toward addressing homelessness among Skid Row residents, a 19-story tower for the Weingart Center Association tops out construction. The structure, built by Emmerson Construction with Swinerton as the prime subcontractor, is one of two towers planned for the development by the Los Angeles, California-based nonprofit agency, which provides supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness, and Chelsea Investment Corporation, one of the nation’s leading affordable housing developers. PCL Construction Completes Greenhouse to Feed Students

PCL Construction celebrated the construction completion of Denver Public School’s Glenbrook Greenhouse – a $4.5-million, 28,000-square-foot greenhouse spanning four acres on the southwestern tip of the city and county of Denver, Colorado. The greenhouse can hold up to 3,500 plants with a warehouse area to accommodate shipping of vegetables to DPS’ over 200 schools serving more than 90,000 students. Siena College and Gilbane Building Company jointly hosted a groundblessing ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on an expanded science complex at Nobel Hall in Loudonville, New York. Father Mark Reamer, vice president of mission at Siena College, blessed water distributed over the site by the Shaker Road Fire Department. C.W. Driver Companies Breaks Ground on New Pasadena Campus  

Driver SPG, an affiliate of C.W. Driver Companies, has broken ground on a new campus addition to Villa Esperanza Services, a nonprofit which has served intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals in Los Angeles and Ventura counties since 1961. The project will be built across two phases, replacing existing structures. The first phase consists of an 8,600 square-foot occupational therapy clinic, a 21,000 square-foot physical education and therapeutic center and three additional school classrooms.
