Several construction milestones at Nashville, Tennessee’s Central Wastewater Treatment Plant were recently celebrated by construction manager-at-risk Brasfield & Gorrie, and Metro Water Services. These achievements included: Completion of all major structural concrete for the plant’s new headworks facility Completion of the plant’s new maintenance facility Surpassing 50% complete on the balance of the plant construction project The improvements to existing wastewater treatment process units throughout the plant include significant process mechanical and concrete upgrades surrounding aeration, new UV disinfection, testing, startup and commissioning. Big-D Construction recently wrapped up its services as the program manager consultant for the Utah State Prison Relocation project. A joint venture with Kitchell CEM, the Utah State Correctional Facility is one of the largest construction projects in the state’s history. Construction on a four-story vertical expansion and renovation project at BayCare’s St. Anthony’s Hospital, located in St. Petersburg, Florida, is complete. Robins & Morton served as the general contractor on the project, which included 143,000 square feet of new construction and 75,000 square feet of renovation. Skanska has been selected by the Virginia Port Authority to redevelop approximately 72 acres of the 287-acre Portsmouth Marine Terminal for use as an offshore wind staging port. The $223-million project includes improving 1,500 feet of an existing 3,540-foot wharf.
