Construction Materials Prices Surge in January, Driven Again by Tariffs

Construction input prices increased 0.7% in January compared to the previous month, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Producer Price Index data. Nonresidential construction input prices increased 0.6% for the month. Overall construction input prices are 2.3% higher than a year ago, while nonresidential construction input prices are 2.9% higher. Prices increased in 2 of 3 energy categories last month. $50M Addition, Renovation Project Begins at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital – Hoke

A $50-million addition and renovation project at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital – Hoke in Raeford, North Carolina broke ground. Encompassing 50,000 square feet, the project includes a two-story addition with 24 patient rooms, a new medical office building and improvements to the existing sterile processing, imaging, kitchen, and dining facilities. The project is scheduled for completion in 2027. Robins & Morton is the general contractor. Grace Design Studios is the architect.
