New Arizona State University-Owned Parking Structure Opens

Construction completed on the $42-million, six-level, 429,000-square-foot Mill Avenue Parking Structure for Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. The new parking structure, a design-build partnership between DFDG Architecture and general contractor McCarthy Building Companies, adds 1,205 parking spaces to the busy area and provides designated valet parking for the Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU, as well as for events at the Nelson Fine Arts Center and Gammage Auditorium. CAMI Selects Design-Build Team

The University of Arizona Health Sciences has selected the design-build team of McCarthy + SmithGroup to develop the Center for Advanced Molecular and Immunological Therapies, or CAMI, a biomedical research hub focused on developing biological therapies that stimulate or suppress the immune system to fight disease, located in Phoenix, Arizona. The CAMI building is anticipated to be seven stories tall with more than 200,000 square feet of laboratory, administrative and seminar space. OSHA, Federal Communications Commission, Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association Renew Partnership

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration renewed a national strategic partnership with the Federal Communications Commission and NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association to eliminate fatalities and reduce injuries and illnesses among workers in the communications tower erection industry. The five-year renewal includes carriers, general contractors and engineering firms in the communications tower erection industry. The Decorative Concrete Council of the American Society of Concrete Contractors, St. Louis, Missouri, has announced the winners of its 15th Annual Decorative Concrete International Awards. The DCC’s WOW Award (best in show), in the category of vertical & facades over 5,000 square feet, was presented to Bomanite of Southeast Asia, Manilla, Philippines for the Manila Zoo rehabilitation project.
