The construction sector added 25,000 jobs in July as wage gains continued to outpace increases in the broader economy, according to an analysis of new government data the Associated General Contractors of America released. Association officials said the biggest challenge for the industry remains finding enough workers to keep pace with demand and urged public officials to boost support for construction education and training programs. Opening fall 2025, the pavilion is the centerpiece of PAM’s major $111-million campus transformation that will renovate or add nearly 100,000 square feet to the museum and add new visitor amenities that address the needs of more diverse audiences. Balfour Beatty has started construction activities to deliver Sacramento International Airport’s Pedestrian Walkway project as part of Sacramento Department of Airports’ SMForward program. Once complete, the new walkway will support traveler growth well into the future by connecting SMF’s Terminal B to Concourse B via a skybridge, providing the ability for passengers to walk or ride the airport’s existing automated people mover. ABC: Two-Thirds of June State Construction Unemployment Rates Down From a Year Ago

The national June 2024 not seasonally adjusted construction unemployment rate was 3.3%, down 0.3% from the previous year, according to a state-by-state analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data released by Associated Builders and Contractors. The analysis also found that 33 states had lower unemployment rates over the same period, two states were unchanged (Georgia and Michigan) and 15 states were higher.
