Skanska Selected to Rebuild Offshore Wind Staging Port at Portsmouth Marine Terminal

Skanska has been selected by the Virginia Port Authority to redevelop approximately 72 acres of the 287-acre Portsmouth Marine Terminal for use as an offshore wind staging port. The $223-million project includes improving 1,500 feet of an existing 3,540-foot wharf. Nonresidential Construction Spending Falls 0.5%, Says ABC

National nonresidential construction spending was down by 0.5% in June, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors’ analysis of data published by the U.S. Census Bureau. On a seasonally adjusted annualized basis, nonresidential spending totaled $829.4 billion for the month. Spending was down on a monthly basis in eight of the 16 nonresidential subcategories. Both private and public nonresidential spending fell by 0.5% in June.

Poettker Construction Raises $52,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois

Poettker Construction raised $52,000 in its annual golf classic for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois. This year, the company surpassed its annual contribution goal and expanded the event by offering morning and afternoon golf sessions. Sixty golf teams participated, which helped the company exceed its goal of supporting the mentorship organization. Proceeds will support the organization’s mission of assisting children in recognizing their potential and building better futures. Since 1980, the organization has helped thousands of youth face adversity and develop mentorship in Clinton, Madison, Monroe and St. Clair counties.
