Construction Adds 110K Jobs in March, ABC Says Here Comes Tsunami of Growth
The construction industry added 110,000 jobs in March, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The industry has added 931,000 jobs since April 2020, recovering 83.6% of the jobs lost during earlier stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. The construction unemployment rate fell to 8.6% in March from 9.6% in February, but it is still 1.7 percentage points higher than in March 2020. The project team includes Gilbane Building Company with team members from Hines Limited Partnership and Ivanhoé Cambridge and architect Pelli Clarke. Expansion, Renovation Underway at Florida Heart Associates
An expansion and renovation project is underway at Florida Heart Associates in Fort Myers, Florida. The project team includes Stevens Construction and PRA. Stevens Construction is providing a complete interior renovation of the two-story, 25,374-square-foot building, which includes an upgrade of all exam rooms, nurse stations, offices, lobby and the cardiac PET equipment. The general contractor is also expanding the existing building with the new construction of an ambulatory surgery center.
