Anti-Fog Technology Helps Workers See Clearly, Longer

3M has added its Scotchgard Anti-Fog Coating Technology to two new safety eyewear models. The Solus 1000 Series safety eyewear and Goggle Gear 500 Series splash goggle now feature an anti-fog coating to help keep workers seeing more clearly on the job. Excellent for workers in construction, the safety eyewear is designed to keep lenses clear of fog and steam — even when workers are in hot and humid conditions or climate-controlled areas. The coating is bonded directly to the lens and retains its effectiveness for at least 25 washings, enabling workers to wear their safety eyewear longer.

Construction Employment Increases Year-Over-Year, Demand for Construction Grows

Construction employment increased in 180 out of 358 metro areas, was unchanged in 46 and declined in 132 between October 2014 and October 2015, according to a new analysis of federal employment data recently released by the Associated General Contractors of America. New Construction Starts in October Climb 13 Percent

NEW YORK, N.Y. — New construction starts in October advanced 13 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $591.1 billion, according to Dodge Data & Analytics. The increase follows the lackluster performance for construction starts during August and September, when activity fell to the lowest levels reported so far in 2015. Much of October’s gain for total construction was due to a sharp rebound by nonresidential building, with additional support coming from a moderate upturn for housing as the result of further strengthening by multifamily housing. Venture One, Clayco Break Ground on 3M’s New Distribution Center in Park 88

CHICAGO, Ill. — Co-developers Venture One Real Estate and Clayco recently broke ground on a 978,120-square-foot distribution center in DeKalb, Illinois. Upon completion, this facility will serve as the largest logistics center for 3M in the United States.
