Innovative solutions recently unveiled the 85-foot-tall river ceiling at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for its North Satellite Modernization Project, located in Washington. The Hensel Phelps’ Pacific Northwest team was tasked with building the towering ceiling. During the early planning stages, it was determined that a scaffold would be the best way to build it. The challenge: suspending a scaffold above the main passenger corridor currently serving 10 operational gates for Alaska Airlines, while simultaneously completing work above. Joint Venture Delivers Runway Reconstruction at Biggs Army Airfield

The reconstruction of the runway at Biggs Army Airfield, located at Fort Bliss on El Paso, Texas’ eastside, has recently been completed by Sundt Construction, Inc., and its joint venture partner MRM Construction Services. The $47-million runway reconstruction project consists of approximately12,000 linear feet of runway replacement and repair, scaling down the runway to better suit modern aircraft. The runway was built in the early 1960s with a wide footprint to accommodate B-52 Bombers. In the reconstruction completed by the team, the runway kept its length but narrowed its width. Joint Venture Selected to Construct $124.5M Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport

The joint venture led by Skanska, along with New South Construction, FS360 and Synergy Construction, has been selected to construct five additional gates at the north end of Concourse T at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (Hartsfield-Jackson) in Georgia.
