The American Society of Concrete Contractors will be replacing its 2020 Annual Conference with a virtual conference the same week, Sept. 21-25. The winners were recognized at a ceremony at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Feb 2. The USF Polytechnic 555 Building, Lakeland, Florida, won the WOW! Award, best overall project for Baker Concrete Construction. The innovative design in architectural concrete includes an elliptical-shaped structure highlighted with exposed concrete raker portals. Malisch, Ph.D., PE, concrete construction specialist, American Society of Concrete Contractors, received the World of Concrete Legacy Award Feb. 2, just prior to the show’s opening in Las Vegas, Nevada. WOC established the Legacy Award to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the concrete and masonry industries, and who have left a lasting mark on the show.
