McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. has added Ann Poppen as project director for its Northern Pacific Region. Drawing on more than 26 years of experience in design, planning, preconstruction design phase services and project execution, Poppen will oversee projects from development through occupancy. She serves as part of the Sacramento Business Unit in the company’s Roseville, California office. Sundt | Yates Construction, a joint venture, recently completed a hotel expansion at the Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Resort near Maricopa, Arizona. The Design-Build project added a new 12-story, 388,000-square-foot, 230-room hotel tower and a 730-space parking structure. PORR Consortium to Build Tunnel in Poland

ŚWINOUJŚCIE, Poland; VIENNA, Austria – The contract for the construction of the Świnoujście tunnel was recently signed. The project will be implemented by a consortium consisting of PORR, Gulermak and Energopol-Szczecin. The contract value is around EUR 150 million and the project is expected to take 48 months to complete. The total length of the project is approximately 3.2 kilometers.
