Gilbane Building Company has completed the renovation and expansion of the new Grand Avenue Neighborhood Center for the City of Orlando, Florida. Gilbane partnered with Borrelli + Partners and JCB Construction to provide Design-Build services to expand and renovate an existing 1926 Mediterranean revival architecture building that originally served the community as a school. In 1995, the building was designated as a historic landmark. Kathy Hochul announced the award of an initial design contract to advance the creation of a new $750-million public health laboratory on the Harriman State Office Campus Complex in Albany to serve New York State’s public health needs. Jennifer Macks has been promoted to vice president and director of Design-Build at Gilbane Building Company. In this newly created position, she will lead the company’s Design-Build program, working in partnership with project teams across the company. After leading Gilbane’s internal Design-Build initiative for the last two years, Macks and her team have implemented procedures for Design-Build project delivery and begun development of a specialized training curriculum for employees.
