RALEIGH, N.C. – DPR Construction has been selected by North Carolina State University to build the school’s new Plant Sciences Building in Raleigh, North Carolina. The project includes construction of a five-story, 187,000-square-foot interdisciplinary research building, comprising research laboratories, office space, corporate laboratory and office suites, hearth/atrium space, support space and shared, flexible conferencing space. The partial fifth floor will house Biosafety Levels 2 and 3 rooftop greenhouses. Skanska to Expand Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden
Skanska has signed a contract with Locum to rebuild and expand Saint Görans Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 1.3 billion (USD $153 million). The project includes rebuilding the existing hospital buildings and two completely new buildings that will contain facilities for care and treatment, delivery and reception. The preliminary size is about 29,000 square meters (approximately 312,100 square feet) of new construction and about 5,000 square meters (approximately 53,800 square feet) of conversion. Annual Ranking Reveals Top 10 States for LEED Green Building
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Green Building Council recently announced the Top 10 States for LEED, an annual ranking that highlights states throughout the United States that made significant strides in sustainable building design, construction and transformation over the past year. LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Skanska’s project, the Expo Line Phase 2 Extension, located in Los Angeles, California, has received Envision Platinum certification from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.
