British Antarctic Survey Project Underway on New Building

Construction has begun in Antarctica for the British Antarctic Survey, with specialists arriving at Rothera Research Station to progress several projects to secure the future of polar operations and research. In a first for the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Programme, some of the construction team, along with BAS team members, will be working through the Austral or Antarctic winter, known as “wintering.” This will see eight construction team members stationed at Rothera for seven months during Antarctica’s winter season from May through November, in which some periods are spent in 24-hour darkness, with harsh polar weather. Contractor Selected to Build Ultra-Fast Charging Stations across Germany

French construction firm Vinci recently won a deal to acquire land and then build and operate 106 charging stations for electric vehicles across Germany. The Germany Ministry for Digital and Transport has awarded Vinci Concessions three contracts to develop the ultra-fast (400kW power rating) charging stations. The development represents a total investment in excess of €200 million. In total, it will see the installation of 828 individual charging points. West Yorkshire’s New State-of-the-Art Pathology Laboratory Opens

A pathology laboratory designed to serve patients across West Yorkshire (England) has recently opened. Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust’s Centre for Laboratory Medicine marks a significant milestone in regional healthcare as it is set to house pathology services from Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust and Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
