Skanska has signed a contract with Locum to rebuild and expand Saint Görans Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 1.3 billion (USD $153 million). The project includes rebuilding the existing hospital buildings and two completely new buildings that will contain facilities for care and treatment, delivery and reception. The preliminary size is about 29,000 square meters (approximately 312,100 square feet) of new construction and about 5,000 square meters (approximately 53,800 square feet) of conversion. World’s Longest Cross-Sea Bridge Nears Completion
BEIJING, China – Construction on the main portion of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge’s The Cross Harbor Tunnel has been completed. It is the world’s longest, deepest-buried tunnel in the seabed, and the most comprehensive, technically difficult immersed tube tunnel. The bridge will have a traffic permit at the end of 2017. After an official ceremony, reporters, along with the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge builder, traveled the tunnel in a battery car. CALGARY, Alberta – PCL Construction Management Inc. has been awarded the $1.1-billion Design-Build contract for the new Calgary Cancer Centre project, as part of the government’s $1.4 billion overall project budget.
