Barton Malow Company and project partner Gray Construction have broken ground at BlueOval SK Battery Park in Glendale, Kentucky. BlueOval SK, a joint venture between Ford and SK On, will produce advanced batteries onsite for future Ford and Lincoln electric vehicles. Construction is ahead of schedule. September was full of important milestones for the BESIX and Orascom Construction teams working jointly on the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt, just off the plateau of the Pyramids of Giza. First, the JV team took a significant step toward completion by delivering substantial parts of the cultural masterpiece. Mall of Oman Awarded LEED Platinum Certification

The joint venture of Consolidated Contractors Company and Shapoorji Pallonji Middle East’s Mall of Oman Project — located in Dubai, U.A.E. — was awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Platinum certification this spring. The Mall of Oman project achieved a Platinum certification under the LEED 2009 Core and Shell Development rating system with a total of 81 points. The new six-story Behavioral Health Teaching Facility, at University of Washington’s Medical Center-Northwest in Seattle, will include 150 patient beds and more than 184,000 square feet of clinical and administrative space.
