Britain’s biggest road project – the A14 – is set to open to drivers more than half a year early. The A14 joint-venture delivery team is comprised of Balfour Beatty, Costain and Skanska working on behalf of Highways England. The £1.5-billion scheme is designed to improve journeys between the East of England and the Midlands. Clark Construction, joint venture partner Blinderman Construction and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command celebrated the start of work at the P-714 Unaccompanied Housing Project with a groundbreaking ceremony. The Design-Build project, located at Naval Station Great Lakes in Chicago, Illinois, will feature a new 166,000-square-foot barracks capable of housing more than 600 enlisted military personnel. Opened in 1911, the NSGL is the Navy’s largest training installation and the home of the Navy’s only Boot Camp. Metroselskabet has awarded a EUR $460-million Design-Build contract for Sydhavn Metro Line (Line 4) in Copenhagen, Denmark, to an equal-parts joint venture consisting of HOCHTIEF Infrastructure and VINCI Construction Grands Projets. HOCHTIEF will be the technical leader of the joint venture.
