Lord Mayor Dirk Hilbert and representatives of BAM Sports GmbH recently signed the general contractor agreement for the conversion and expansion of the Heinz Steyer Stadium into a multifunctional sports and event facility, located in Dresden, Germany. The order includes general contractor services for a turnkey and operational handover to the state capital Dresden, including all the necessary planning and construction services. The order volume is around 34 million euros. Construction is complete on the SoFi Stadium, the new home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, in Inglewood, California. The project team including Turner-AECOM Hunt, the joint venture of Turner Construction Company and AECOM Hunt, part of AECOM, recently celebrated the opening of the 3.1-million-square-foot facility, which is the first football stadium erected in Los Angeles in nearly a century. Upgraded amenities and heightened experiences for fans and student-athletes are on deck as JE Dunn Construction begins a $9-million renovation of Russ Chandler Stadium, the home of Georgia Tech baseball located in Atlanta, Georgia. The demolition of an existing one-story building paves the way for construction of a 25,379-square-foot, two-story structure. The new facility will include three indoor batting tunnels, indoor pitching lab, event hall space, concessions and roof terrace.
