Genesis Marina, a 570,000-square-foot commercial office and laboratory project that general contractor Webcor is delivering in Brisbane, California, is officially the world’s first Total Resource Use and Efficiency precertified construction site. The TRUE program is administered by Green Business Certification, Inc., which also implements Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification. The precertification recognizes projects that have implemented the fundamental actions and policies needed to effectively pursue zero waste and have demonstrated a commitment to achieving TRUE certification. Contract Signed for 1st Comprehensive City Center University Campus in Western Australia

Stantec was recently selected as lead engineer for the Edith Cowan University City in Perth (Western Australia). The firm is part of a consortium of local, national and international architects and engineers that will design the AUS $695-million project — Western Australia’s first comprehensive city center university campus. Stantec will provide civil and structural engineering, as well as building and traffic planning services. Empire State Development, a Lendlease/Turner joint venture with tvsdesign, provided Design-Build services for the expansion of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The $1.5-billion project will generate millions of dollars in new economic activity for New York City, while serving as a model of environmental efficiency and sustainability.
